People who say these things and have a close relationship with their mothers, grew up on a different planet than us. And that is okay. It is disappointing when people refuse to acknowledge that these relationships can look very different, and that you don’t have to also live it to empathize with it. I don’t judge other people’s trauma, and honestly feel sad for people who act that way. I hope we can all show more kindness and empathy for each other’s unique pains and strife. Thanks, Lesley.
